It started sprinkling rain moments before Michael and Rachel were pronounced husband and wife at their Brix and Columns Vineyards wedding in late May.  The skies opened up just as they made it back into the estate house, and I’m pretty sure it hasn’t stopped raining since.  Just kidding. Kinda. Haha!

On a more serious note, these two had the most love filled wedding day!  Friends from around the globe (quite literally) travelled to the tiny Shenandoah Valley town of McGaheysville, Virginia to witness these two tie the knot.  The weddings when the couple is just so thrilled to be getting married that none of the other details truly matter – those fill my soul with such joy!  This was most certainly one for the books.  The way Michael and Rachel look at one another makes it evident that they can weather any storm – and they definitely proved that with their joyful spirts on their rainy wedding day.

I was SO HAPPY these two chose to have a first look.  There are many reasons to or not to have a first look, but we were lucky that the weather was awesome earlier in the day.  The pending storm gave us some awesome looking clouds and that wonderful diffused sunlight that hid the fact that we were photographing this couple very early in the afternoon.  We were able to check off all of those important couple and bridal party portraits before the wedding – then the couple could relax and enjoy the rest of the day. Definitely a huge plus of a first look!

These two also chose to meld together their Christian and Jewish faiths for their wedding.  It was my first with some of the Jewish wedding traditions, and it was so fun to see!
