Hi, I’m Nikki – a wife, mother, photographer, former elementary school teacher, Hokie, and food/travel junkie. When the sun is shining, I’ll likely be sitting around a baseball diamond or on a mountain excursion to catch a spectacular sunset or watch deer play. On a cool fall evening, my favorite place is snuggled around a campfire in our backyard or outside our RV at one of our favorite campgrounds. I believe simplicity is key - staying true to our roots, letting go of the unnecessary, and often dream of tiny home plans in our future. Compassion makes the world go around - if I can leave but one lasting legacy after I'm gone, I hope it can simply be that I truly cared.

Our center. Foundation. I've been beyond blessed with a family second to none. Starting with a large and super close extended family, my cousins have always been more like siblings to my only child existence. Chris, my husband, provides the love and stability that keeps my world in balance. My greatest treasures are my children. My kids soothe my soul and make me crazy all at the same time - and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Traveling is my favorite pastime! I love our home, but there's just something about getting out and exploring that soothes my soul. Experiencing new places and new things is exhilarating but revisiting our favorite destinations is always great, too!

Our world is a beautiful place - beaches, plains, and treasures galore. I grew up in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley in Elkton, Virginia. No matter where I roam, the mountains beckon my return. Upon cresting the Blue Ridge Mountains after each of our trips, I breathe in a deep breath of calm - I am home.

Yummy food. Great wine. Pumpkin beer. Cupcakes. Lemonade. I'll cringe inside if invited to a meal at a chain establishment but joyously visit a diner, brewery or home grown restaurant. The power of supporting small business and buying local is real and I love to do just that no matter where we visit.
