Summer in the Shenandoah Valley has looked sort of like this: rain, hint of sunshine peeking through the clouds, oh – no – just kidding, rain, a little more rain, hurricane, and a little more rain.  You’d never know by looking at this cheerful couple, but it poured the majority of Dominic and Katherine’s June 2, 2018 wedding day at Hermitage Hill Farm and Stables.  Gratefully, Hermitage is one of the few wedding venues near Staunton, VA that has great ceremony space options both outdoors and indoors.  On sunny days, the outdoor ceremony space is flocked by mountain views and when it rains, the ceremony is brought indoors to the stable area.

What you should know about Katherine is that she’s just as gorgeous on the inside as out.  I was able to meet with Dominic and Katherine several times in the wedding planning process and knew instantly that they were my ideal wedding couple. Fun, laid back, genuinely caring and kind.  My favorite wedding days are those when the couple is focused on the BIG reason their families and friends have come together – to begin their lives together in marriage.  Not whether every single detail is perfectly in place, or stressing over all the things.  Just excited to be marrying the love of their life!  Dominic and Katherine certainly had one of those days.  They didn’t let the rain stop them from enjoying their wedding day!  Almost as a gift for their grateful spirits that day, the sun peeked from behind the clouds right at sunset allowing us to capture those lovely Shenandoah Valley sunset portraits we love so much!
