I can feel it coming.  The air is getting cooler in the mornings and the nights are a bit crisper.  A few leaves have even begun to lose their green hue in favor of orange and maroon.  You know what they say…. God must be a Hokie since the entire fall season is decorated in our most favorite colors! 😉

I find beauty in all seasons and will most likely make the four seasons state of Virginia my forever home, although, we’ll still spend lots of time travelling to see what other parts of the world have to offer.  Even though I love it all, fall still stands a little above the rest.  There’s just something about the color palette, mild temperatures, college football, pumpkin beer, and the excitement of a freezer about to be refilled with fresh game thanks to my husband’s love of hunting with his grandfather.   Then there is Elkton Autumn Days.  I look with excitement each year to enjoying this festival for another weekend of music, food, and crafts.  Above all, fall is a season of thankfulness.  Looking back to remember the blessings that overflow abundantly in our home is always a special time.

Fall is the perfect time to capture family photos.  I don’t think there is ever a more gorgeous mountain backdrop than in October in the Shenandoah Valley.  Today, I’m remembering a session with a special family that Chris and I are grateful to call friends.  We took these photos just after they purchased their home and we were excited to capture this special time.
