[part of the Wednesday for Weddings blog series – wedding venue, vendor, decor, and idea suggestions]
When Jamie and Andre asked me to photograph their wedding, I was ecstatic! Jamie and I knew each other from high school but connected again after I took her sister, Anna’s, senior pictures when I was just starting on my photography journey. Not only was this one of my very first weddings, but the reception was held at the same place that Chris and I were married!
I returned to Lydia Mountain for the first time following our own wedding, so it was emotion filled. Jamie and Andre’s reception was filled with family, friends, love, and laughter.
I just love Lydia Mountain! This reception space is an open air pavilion with a beautiful stone fireplace.
Framed with stunning wooden beams, gorgeous wood tones, and unique rustic decor, the pavilion is a lovely alternative to a barn. With roll down sides and heaters, the area is suitable for cooler weather and rain.
Of course, the best thing about Lydia Mountain is the scenery. Sitting on a mountaintop overlooking the valley, the views are perfect for photos or even an outdoor ceremony.
Since this wedding, the owners have done quite a bit of expanding in regards to wedding services. They’ve cleared and leveled land to create a new ceremony location, acquired an old stone chapel for small wedding ceremonies, and also built a barn on another site. Together with the many cabin lodgings on the property, Lydia Mountain is a wonderful option for a rustic wedding.
I love to hear from you! Comment below.
