I vividly remember the first time I met Brandy.  I was cautious, guarded, and slightly terrified.  You see, Brandy had just been hired as our new high school cheerleading coach.  With competition season only weeks away, I was unsure if someone from a division of smaller schools could uphold our district level winning tradition.  Looking back, this thought is so hilarious.  Our team had no idea what a gem we were getting and just how lucky we were! She taught us things we didn’t know existed and took us to levels we never imagined.

As a coach, Brandy not only challenged us, but cared for us in a way we didn’t even know possible.  Two years later on my high school graduation day I hugged her with tears in my eyes, once again slightly terrified of change and with a bittersweet feeling in my gut.

Fast forward eight years through getting to coach and judge together, I’m happy to call her a friend today.  We got together a few weeks ago for fall family portraits at the always stunning Cross Keys Barn.  Check out her beautiful family below!
